Seth rolled his eyes at Aerin when she gave the stuck up Purebreed a sappy look. Why did girls go for guys like him anyway? It was crazy, Zak-a-Jerk had been nothing but mean to her every time Seth saw the two together, but now she was making that icky girly face at the oblivious dark boy and cooing thank yous at him as if she had been the one who was mean to him first. Girls are so silly Seth thought as he began drawing a pair of kissing stick people to tease Aerin with.
While Aerin worked on her assignment, Seth’s wandering attention returned to Zakir. Trying to hide a devious smirk he let his hand drop to his lap so that Aerin wouldn’t see before he reached over and poked the Purebreed again, and received another poisonous glare for his effort as the short boy scooted over slightly in his chair to avoid the unwanted poking. It was difficult to suppress the snicker that bubbled in his throat at the way Zakir had jumped at the touch. Another poke, and another inch scooted over.
After a few more pokes, Seth sighed when Zakir still refused to react to his teasing. Again his attention wandered, now that his sketch was finished he reached forward and tugged Aerin’s hair playfully to show her the two smooching stick figures. Silently he mouthed Zakir and Aerin sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G… while keeping one hand up next to his mouth so Zaki couldn’t see what Seth’s words were.
While she was focused on his taunting, and Zakir was focused on her reactions, Seth’s left hand darted out and just like with Aerin, he managed to thieve the young Pureblood’s hair tie. Ebony hair fell loosely around Zaki’s shoulders and the look the Purebreed gave him was priceless.
Aerin focused fiercely on her blank parchment as the inkbottle cap rolled away from her. She struggled to keep her face still as her entire being focused on Zakir’s reaction. The cap stopped. He... more

Seth scowled when Aerin actually began telling the librarian what really happened… in a meandering sort of way. There were enough holes in her story that he might be able to get them out of this. It... more
