The weirdest things had taken getting used to at RMI. Completely unfazed by things like moving portraits and an entire underground forest, Noah had instead been forced to adjust to things like sharing a room and being in charge of eating his own vegetables. After an entire week of eating nothing green at all (unless you counted a lime jellybean he'd had on accident, which Noah would personally consider more of a yellow-green than green-green), he'd felt so sick to his stomach that he'd gone to the nurse. At that point, it had been suggested to him in no uncertain terms that he should eat something more healthy for him than bacon mac'n'cheese. It was weird. Also weird but really cool was that he could order food from his plate.

That meant he could have bacon with everything.

The fair-haired first year had quickly discerned that while most things tasted much better with bacon, eating it for every meal made him sick of the taste. And it was with that dilemma in mind that Noah was staring perplexedly at his plate, trying to figure out what vegetable he could order so it didn't taste gross. He'd taken a few moments to look around for ideas every so often, but was still largely strapped for ideas that didn't involve chocolate, lemons, or bacon. And while Noah thought that chocolate was almost as good as bacon, he was also pretty sure that chocolate on carrots was literally the nastiest thing ever.

The fourth or fifth time that Noah looked up and around for inspiration, he realized that the same person had been standing off to the side for the entire time Noah had been trying to eat. There was also an unusual amount of stuff in front of the person, and as Noah looked closer, blue eyes examining the situation intensely, he realized it was another boy (probably his age).

Noah scratched his head, just behind his right ear.

"Hey," he called over in the direction of the boy - who actually wasn't standing too far away. "do you want to eat with me?" Noah scooted to the side, making room for the other boy.
