Erin walked next to Sam, feeling happy that their friendship had been somewhat repaired. Erin made a vow to herself that she wouldn’t abandon her friend, not again. Even if they weren’t in the same house. Their friendship wasn’t that fragile, was it? It wouldn’t break from not being the same house? From what she’d gathered, they’d have the same courses together even if they were in separate houses.

As they walked together to the opening feast, she noticed there was a new kid. Her eyes narrowed as she took in his spiky brown hair and tanned complexion. She rolled her eyes as she noted his sunburn. As she was prompted to, she took out her dream catcher and sighed that it was cream. She glanced over at Sam and saw that hers was blue. Her stomach sank. She’d wanted them to be in the same house.

She began to walk towards her bonfire. Her heart pounded painfully in her chest as she sat down. Her mouth suddenly feeling dry as she took a water from one of the house elfs. She sat down and pretended like she wasn’t feeling ill. She took a deep breath, When the Feast is over, maybe I can go to sleep. Perhaps that’s all I need to get rid of the butterflies in my stomach.

Her eyes closed, trying to ignore the nerves. She turned around as she heard someone approach her. She glared at the person. “I hope you have a reason for coming over here.” she snapped. “Because I happen to like being alone.” it was a lie, but what else could she do? Everyone she’d already talked to her knew her as ‘rude’ already.
