Brielle Hawkins
First Bonfire but Second Year
Tue Apr 22, 2014 19:41

Brielle had arrived at the bonfire rather early, searching for one of her two mentees. She felt like she hadn't done the best job at Orientation and could only hope they would enjoy themselves at the bonfire. After she ensured that her firsties getting along well without her help, Brielle was on the lookout for Beka or Cora or Meci. She hadn't seen them since last year, but she knew that this year, they'd finally be able to have that sleepover that they were trying for last year.

Instead of one of Brielle's first year -- second...they were second years now -- friends, though, she spotted Jesse walk through the doors. She rolled her eyes at how he always walked as if he was the coolest kid in the world. At some points, he could be, but he was a player most of the time. She'd written to him over the summer once or twice, but not extensively. How old was he now? A fourth year? She thought he was two years older than she was... Gee, what would her foster parents say if she told them she had a crush on a fourteen year old?

Which...she didn't.

He plopped down across the bonfire, and Brielle thought about going over to talk to him. She quickly decided against it, though; she knew he was probably looking for a pureblood or something. She also knew he was a real ladies-man, and he would probably be looking for a new girl to flirt with. He was such a tease sometimes.

Instead, she just relaxed by the bonfire, waiting for one of her other friends or someone new to appear. Brielle was looking to make a few more friends this year; not that last year wasn't great in that aspect, but she'd always had better luck befriending people a year younger because they weren't as intimidating as people who were older or her own age.

Someone bumped into Brielle's shoulder as they sat down, and she decided to say hi. Why not? What was the harm?

"Hello," she greeted happily, "Isn't the bonfire great this year?"
