Headmistress Elizabeth Guinevere Warren
Hands-on administrating
Thu Jan 23, 2014 18:12

Elizabeth Guinevere understood, as anyone with common sense should, that the respect held for the certain leadership positions did not, necessarily, transfer with those positions. And as more administrators would do well to realize, the key to respect within a school was not through the teachers and other administrators. It was through the students.

She pulled her elbow length, aubergene gloves on before pulling the sleeves of her robes down to cover her arms to her wrists and then took a quick glance at the mirror before striding out the door of her office. She locked it with a tap of her wand, then made her way to the Herbology classroom.

As Kizzy had informed her that morning, Scott Padral would be teaching his Intermediates about Bubotubers that day. Elizabeth Guinevere had decided that it was the ideal time to begin learning about the school first-hand and had subsequently prepared herself to participate in just that lesson. Just as any student who had been educated under the IWCE system would be, EG was familiar with the practices of Herbology but had taken the time to read up on Bubotubers just in case. Her preparation had put a spring in her step and although she arrived in the Herbology classroom slightly later than the students had been instructed to do so, she was not at a loss for what to do.

“Good day, Mister Padral,” the woman greeted the professor as she walked into his room, noting that the students had already begun their task of pus-collection. She walked by him, scanned the room full of students, and swept over to one who seemed to be particularly reticent to tackle the task at hand, whether through fear, distaste, or uncertainty. Having already pulled her dark hair into a tight bun at the back of her head and donned gloves, the Headmistress was fully prepared for pus-collection. Elizabeth Guinevere easily caught hold of one of the plant’s limbs, uncorked a bottle, released the pus into it, then re-corked it.

With an easy, elegant smile, she handed the bottle to the student.

“Not quite as bad as Professor Padral would have you believe,” she said. “Breathing through your mouth will help to avoid the stench.”
