Sending a pretty bludger your way {Fireball Chaser}
Sun Nov 21, 2010 19:31

Chris swung his beater bat casually into the air as he trudged through the snow onto SUM's definition of a Quidditch Stadium, and caught the bat neatly into his thinly gloved hand. He lagged slightly behind the rest of his team but as he got closer he got a clear look at the competition.

"Oh, please." He snorted to one of his teammates. "This is the best they can come up with?"

Ever since Chris had joined the team three years ago, they had won the Falcon Cup each year. It was pretty much acknowledged that he and Calvin were the bare bone structure of the team. They fought hard and brutally - though there wouldn't be too much energy to put into this team - to get rid of each opposition by whatever means necessary. In the end, that left their superbly skilled team with little resistance.

Chris' eyes dragged over each Fireball player and noted their names. Most of them were girls, which surprised him. And made him feel even better about the upcoming match. The two beaters, Featherwick and Chapman definitely looked easy to beat. Chris scanned his gaze over Featherwick and picked her out to be the first one on the receiving end of his bludger. She didn't look much for Captain material.

The Keeper, Kamiya, didn't look special as well. He'd leave her for the chasers to humiliate. She probably couldn't even tell which trio of goalposts were hers.

The Chasers looked alright. Errant and Edwards looked fit enough, no match for Hippogriff ones of course, but Nealson, hot as she was, was going to burn. Chris gleefully twirled his bat around in his hand, all the imaginary ways of hurting the team flashing through his mind. He wondered if Calvin was experiencing something just as exquisite. He saw knees breaking, blood gushing... my, it was marvelous.

He couldn't wait for the game to start. He took off his black square shaped glasses and pulled out his wand and tapped it on the snow covered glass to permanently keep them clean. He put them back on and waited for the ref's signal. Finally, they were on their brooms, and the quaffle was thrown up. Chris tracked a bludger with his eyes and flew toward it. Despite his promise of going after Featherwick, he cast that aside in favor of going after his nearest target - one of the chasers.

He stretched his broad arm high, the large muscles flexing, and then suddenly dropped in the air as the bludger dipped below. He pulled up a little to the side of it, and looked up at the chaser he had followed from below.

"This is just a teaser!" He called out, then swung hard on the bludger, watching as it sped somewhere around the chaser's knees and middle of the belly of the broom.
