Might be better for my health though.

Encouraged by what he hoped was a genuine smile from her, however faint, his own mouth spread into a lazed grin. "I would have to have a death wish to want to stalk you." In all seriousness, there was something about Harley Girl that pulled Calix toward her. The problem was, that same pull also repelled him, causing him to want to run in the exact opposite direction. It was just a few chance encounters and a motorcycle ride the two shared between them, but it was enough to cause him to think about her, much more, he feared, than she did him. Much as he tried, however, he couldn't help himself.

The oddly designed quaffle started thrashing around in his arms as soon as he had gotten a grip on it. Used to wrestling bludgers, he instinctively hunched over it, keeping his knees bent and his muscles tight as he waited for Harley Girl to lift the enchantment. It stilled and he straightened up after a cautious moment, hazel eyes suddenly staring down into semi-familiar ones. He felt the urge to suddenly do something, but before the thought had completed itself, the other pair of eyes had hardened and Harley Girl turned away. He straightened up, still holding tight to the ball, as if it were some sort of safety net for him.

"No, it's a... a Muggle ball, actually."

He stayed where he was, noting the tone with a raised brow.

"You should probably put it down before it gets your hands dirty."

Purposefully not reading anything into what she was saying, he merely loosened his grip slightly and made a show of circling the ball at the end of his fingertips, tilting it and looking at it from all angles. "Looks clean enough to me." He said simply. "Anyway, I don't think it'd be breaking in since Bradford isn't around." Calix balanced the ball on his index finger and started spinning it, watching the orange blur of motion, his finger arching and twisting to keep it going. "Hope they get a coach soon. Would suck not to have quidditch here anymore."

He was latching onto small talk, trying to think of a way to justify his being there, with her, any way he could. As usual, no perfect words could make themselves known to him. Nothing clever, or funny, or suitable. He continued to watch the orange mass until his finger shook and twisted the wrong way and the muggle ball fell at his feet. He pushed the cigarette around in his mouth, took it between his fingers, exhaled, put it back in, and inhaled. Some of the nervousness fled away, escaping into the refines of the blissful air, while he was stuck on the ground.
