She continued to ignore him as he spoke up. At least, she appeared to, though in reality she was listening to his every word. A feeling of almost-warmth spread across her at his disregard for the ball's supposed dirtiness, but she squashed it down. She knew what the wizarding world thought of her kind, both from what they told her and what she saw reflected now in the wreckage of the university. Even if he was speaking literally, he couldn't mean it, not really. But the faint smile briefly made its way back onto her face nonetheless.

Turning around slowly, she studied him. Lee didn't understand how he could seem so casual, like this was just another chance meeting with just another person, when she was feeling so conflicted about everything. Was he really that oblivious? Surely he could at least guess at what she'd really meant by dirtiness, a description not limited to just the ball but including herself as well? Looking at him now calmly smoking and spinning the ball, she wished she knew why he was responding that way and what his intentions were. She finally nodded in response to what he'd said. "Yeah. It would suck."

She prodded the basketball with her toe of her sneaker to stop it from rolling past her. Looking at him a bit hesitantly, she opened her mouth to say something - she wasn't even certain what at this point, but something, anything to break the silence - yet in the next moment, the golf ball she'd conjured earlier had slammed into the back of her head. Lee inhaled sharply as her head was shoved forward from the impact but gritted her teeth, remaining silent out of habit as she turned back around. She easily caught the tiny ball between her hands as it sped back and managed to hold it moderately still to remove the charm. The last two balls were following behind it and she was able to disarm them while they were still in the air without a problem.

Promptly falling cross-legged onto the ground now that she knew there were no other balls out to get her, she gingerly touched the back of her head with one gloved hand, eyes watering from the sudden hit. Obviously balls hit by an actual golfer hurt like crazy, but it never occured to her that they could get up plenty of speed when flying on their own as well. She looked back up at him, blinking to try and bring his tall frame above her into focus. With an expression somewhere between a grin and a grimace, she remarked to him softly, "I really need to start taking care of my charms before dropping my bat. What a terrible excuse for a Beater that makes me." She laughed weakly and lowered her eyes to the ground, her head pounding as she felt along where the ball had hit. "Don't suppose you know any good healing spells?"
