Bah, don't worry. I'm perfectly harmless.

"I'm fine, I think. Just sore." She winced as her fingers brushed against the bruised bump, and her mind automatically flashed back to the last time she'd been beaten in the head. Ouch. "I hate head injuries."

She stiffened as he moved behind her but obediently lowered her hand. His hands were much more gentle than she thought they would be and she was able to relax somewhat. Letting his steady voice wash over her, Lee snickered at his description of his sister, trying not to pay too much attention to how his fingers felt tracing across her scalp. The acrid smell of cigarette smoke burned in her nose and she wished he wasn't smoking; her senses were being unwillingly drawn to the chemicals in the air instead of him behind her... ack. She cursed herself out mentally. Why on Earth are you still thinking about him? Stop it already. To her relief, the freezing spell he cast on her soon faded away and she touched a hand to her head again to find it both numb-free and completely healed.

"More than alright. I'm gonna have to remember that one." She scrambled up to her feet and walked over to him, hands in the pockets of her faded jeans as she glanced across the pitch before shaking her head. "Nope, I only had five of them up, and they're all on the ground. We're safe for now." Turning towards him with a true smile, she said seriously, "Thank you." He confused her and was still enough of a mystery to be just a tad annoying, but she thought she could overlook that, for a while at least. The fact that he'd actually sat down to help her instead of just telling her what to do was surprisingly sweet of him, she was so used to taking care of herself whenever needed that she certainly hadn't expected to be treated that way. She thought for a moment and then laughed. "Scratch the stalker theory. Apparently I'm the true danger magnet, and you're just the incredibly nice guy who happens to get in the way periodically."

Noticing the smudged pile of cigarette ashes on the ground, she pondered it a moment before pointing her wand at it, frowning in concentration. The ashes turned into a small meadow flower under her wand and her face lit up with delight at her success. She immediately turned to transfigure the other ground-out cigarette, a bit tempted to also try it on the one he was still smoking, but she figured that she really didn't know him well enough yet to be blantantly forcing him to fight the nicotine. At least now the ugly grey ashes had been replaced with something brighter. Sheathing her wand again and returning her hands to her pockets, she turned her gaze upwards, tilting her head slightly to feel the warmth of the sun on her face. "Beautiful day," she commented softly, eyes half-closed as she smiled up at the sky. "This time of year is just amazing, I could just stay out here forever."
