"Incredibly nice?" He raised a brow, raising a finger to his lips, face deadpan. "Shh. Don't tell anybody. Would ruin my rep." He watched her transfigure something beautiful out of his cigarettes and left over ash. "And they say smoking is an ugly habit." He smiled and puffed some more.

Now that she seemed perfectly fine, and he'd exhausted his stored portion of small talk, he really saw no other excuse to stay around. He tilted his head to follow her gaze, seeing nothing so extraordinary though her expression made it seem as if the sight was heaven. "Still a poet." He commented, watching some smoke float away from him and toward the brilliant blue of the sky. With a twinge, he watched the smoke dissipate. 'Guess ugly things really can't coexist with the beautiful.'

"Harley Girl," he paused, head bent down, fingers tense over his cigarette though he didn't withdraw it from his mouth. It was his anchor, he wasn't about to let go until what he was about to do was over. He wouldn't care about the answer, only that the question was released from him. Done for. "Would you - I mean - " He took a breath, on the verge of chickening out and taking the plunge. Though outwardly his body seemed normal, inwardly he felt the shakes; his legs, his arms, even some pain in his elbows. It almost hurt to keep his arm bent to hold the cigarette between his lips. He bit through it with his teeth. "Ah, hell." He muttered. "I just need to get rid of this - I mean, curiosity. You understand?" Hazel eyes darted toward her, then back to the ground. "I mean - " He took a breath, fed up with the aching pain. He straightened up, took out the cigarette and let his hand fall to his side, looked straight at her, genuinely wondering what in Merlin's name about her made him compelled to ask such a thing. "Dinner. Or something. You and me. Do you want to?" He waited, standing steady and straight, but imagining himself tipping precariously on a ledge. And no matter what the answer, he would just be glad to relax and just fall.
