Emilie McClure
Just wait till we pounce.
Mon May 16, 2011 01:11

Emilie was relatively new to Quidditch. She was a second year now, so she'd had a year and a summer of practice, but she still didn't know if it was going to be enough for this game. She'd been reserve Keeper last year, and now she was finally going to play. Her reflexes were much sharper than before, and she was proud to be wearing her team's robes. The Scottish-American girl, her brown hair tied up and her turquoise eyes looking at each member of the opposite team, took her place at the hoops.

It was a little boring at first, but she stayed alert. There were a couple times it got really close, but her fellow Chasers were quick in intercepting. They really were awesome. She gripped her broom tightly, feeling a little nervous. She had a quick broom, but whenever the Quaffle came near, she became nervous and stopped thinking. She didn't want to let her team down.

The Quaffle did, unfortunately, come back with one of the Fireball Chasers holding it, and then they threw it towards the left hoop. Emilie's reflexes probably weren't as polished as she'd wanted. Because she attempted to lunge for it, but it didn't work out that way. Her broom held still and, angry and feeling embarrassed, she pulled her broom to the left again harshly. However, the new broom that she apparently didn't have full control of, moved too quickly to the left and so when the Quaffle turned rapidly to the right, it smacked her right in the face.

Feeling embarrassed but also rejoicing in the fact that she had stopped it from getting into the hoops, she caught it before it fell to the ground and threw it to the nearest Boardhound Chaser. She rubbed her sore, pale nose. That had really hurt. The pain would go away fast, though, especially in this cold. It would get numb. Emilie let herself smile. She'd blocked her first goal in a real match! She thanked Merlin and her father for her malfunctioning broom.
