And bringing it back.

After Quidditch, flying was Jian's favorite thing in the world. Maybe even more than Quidditch. He wasn't one to boast, but he knew he was really quite good at it too, if only because his style of flying was so entirely different. He couldn't help himself; he loved the feeling of blood pounding in his head, the dizzy swirl of colour as the ground seemed to spin around him, the way his robes tangled around his lean frame in the wind, the strain of his muscles as they fought gravity to keep him attached to his broom, the rush of the ground speeding closer to his face until he forced his broom up and then all he could see was the endless sky. It was a glorious feeling, ruined only by the fact that he couldn't enjoy it forever.

What DiCaprio seemed to have forgotten was that, by flying upside-down, Jian had a perfect view of everything above him, so of course he saw his legs shift and then slam down towards his broom. While he didn't notice it far enough in advance to actually move away (his attention being almost entirely on the other Sapienti chaser prior to realizing DiCaprio's advance), he did manage to respond in time to push the handle of his broom up and thereby pull the tail down in front of DiCaprio's foot to keep the other man from actually forcing him to move. He looped up in front of the Chasers, right-side-up once more, and with an indifferently muttered "Oops", he accidentally entirely on purpose knocked his leather boot into the side of DiCaprio's head as he passed over him. Jian's broom was his pride and joy; he had made it himself. No one touched his broom that way or threatened to touch it that way or even looked at it that way. No one.

DiCaprio scored. He was a bit disappointed in that, though not because Emilie had let the ball in; it was more because the guy who'd just gone and stomped on his broom had scored. But that was all the more reason to get the ball onto the other end of the pitch, yeah? He gave Emilie a little half-smile of encouragement as Shae caught her pass, scooping up the ball as she soon sent it back to him and taking it down the short distance remaining to the hoops. Locking intense dark eyes onto the Keeper's face, he aimed his broom for the middle of the three hoops. He feinted right but the Quaffle barely rolled onto his fingers before he let it fall back to his palm, instead sending it flying for the center hoop. The way it spun against his fingers as he flicked his wrist meant that the ball twisted as it spun through the air; it was soon headed for the left hoop instead. He really wanted to test the Keeper girl and see just how good her reflexes were.

Norman was baffled by the game. He wasn’t an expert Chaser, but he was sure what they were doing was bordering on the illegal. However, this game had nothing on the game they had played against the... more

Angela knew she was being entirely unhelpful right now. Her optimism that her arm would somehow fix itself in time to score a goal was rapidly fading, though she was keeping a good face on. She... more
