The Ringo Family History reflects a Ringo-Spence connection with Lyda Elizabeth Ringold (Ringo) marriage to John Spence in 1944 probably in Mississippi. They had one son Joseph Oliver Spence. Lyda Ringo was in the same family line as John Peters Ringo. Her Grand father was William Marion Ringo, later changed to Ringold, who lived in Yalobusha Co, Ms, b. 4-28-1834 and served as a sergeant in the confederate army and is buried in the JAMES Family Cemetery in Grenada Co, MS. Some members of this Ringo family line were in Abilene, TX during and after the Civil War. This line of Johnny Ringo's family changed their name from Ringo to Ringold after the Civil War. Things were complicated during and after the war.
