Given that this is a "just so," story, we probably need to get too caught up in geographical niceties. Plus, "near the 'Hole' country" allows the writer further wiggle room. Where exactly is "near"? Idaho, Montana, Colorado, or somewhere in Wyoming outside the Hole-in-the-Wall?

Plus, he could well have misrembered the actual name, assuming he was ever there. He's writing, what, 15 or 20 years after the encounter? Make that after the alleged encounter.

Maybe he meant Piedmont, Wyoming. Or Peru. I did not know there was a Peru, Wyoming. An Inca settlement? Dan

    That's a paraphrase, not precise wording, but it makes the point of how it was written, No word or anything that would imply Florida. Not my job to explain why if you're right
