First, of all, there are at least three different repositories that they use to store their collections. The most commonly used items are store on site, in the back room, so to speak. In other words, "the stacks" (librarian jargon). The other two are more secure repositories. Their most valuable, or fragile are stored in the vault, which takes effort, and permission to go and retrieve. Everything there, that is public access is photocopied, and the photocopies are for researcher use. They rarely show the originals, unless there is either a legal really a good reason to show the original. This is the reason for their puzzled looks. It is rare that someone asks to look at the "original." Then there are the protocols that they have in place to gain permission. You would have to have a really good reason for them to show it to you. Dan would have to have a really good reason for them to show it to him. Richard Patterson, Butch's biographer would have to have a really good reason to look at the original. That is determined by the Director of the library. It is a judgement call by him.

YOU don't need it to be fake. That comment was a question to Pat who has this big theory that Butch never went to SA. SHE, if anyone, would need it to be fake because if it is not it hurts her theory

Now you're telling me what I think? Are you a mind reader? I don't know if Robert Leroy Parker went to SA or not. That's the whole point. Someone named James Ryan went . Whoever he was we don't know... more

You've been saying this theory for years here! Sometimes, when someone finds out something, or points out something (as I did recently) that hurts it you back off slightly and equivocate, but you... more

Chris, Here's the protocol. Historical documents held by archives are considered established otherwise. That's not a theory, that's a protocol. The skeptic, the challenger, has to come... more

for some reason, the word "until" causes the OWR software to burp. Even when I reposted it in the subject line above, it created ellipses. Dan
