Well, as you know, I disagree they were a KS couple. They CLAIMED they were, but the girl does not appear in KS birth records. Plenty of guys under the man's name are in records so no help there.

I'm not sure I get your contention. It seems highly likely the people who got married were the Springville people, which make it impossible for it to be Ella Butler as she was already married so she is automatically excluded.

It really stretches credulity if you're claiming Ella Butler was Flora Ackley, and that another flora who marries an ackley a cple days later is a totally different woman. I can't see that. Disagree it was EP if you want, but to claim one woman was EB calling herself Flora Ackley while a totally different woman BECAME a Flora Ackley 2 days later in salt lake goes beyond any even remote possibility IMO

Ancestry.com says EB was born 1869. Take your age pick, I guess

Seavey being wrong about the robbery total plays no role in his being wrong about Logan. As I noted, there's no reason to tie Logan to it at all but for having shown photos of him to the sheriffs, which we know he did.

Butler being from GJ doesn't exclude SD from being the tall man as Jack says SD was in the GJ area in that era as well, nor does it cancel eyewitness testimony that Fllatnose was in Price at the same general time as the robbery, nor other reports of the Currie gang in Utah in 1898. There is good evidence to place them in Utah and near the robbery area at the time of the robbery

One would also suppose Butler would know which canyon was which and be waiting at the right canyon, something the Currie gang might get contused over

You're also giving the Currie gang a lot of credit for foresight to assume they would automatically refuse to hold a relay team for a cut of bank robbery money just because it was Maxwell

Vince, I never said that Mont and Ella Butler were John F. Ackley and Flora Bailey. Ackley and Bailey were just some random Kansas couple getting married in SLC. If Flora Bailey, soon to be Flora... more

btw, EB had kind of a bad reputation and notoriety going back to the mid 90s that I know of. I might suppose she would be recognized by the sheriff and marshal, or someone else, (not even dealing... more

So your contention is that Flora, the Lady that turned up in Springville the day of the robbery was traveling under her married name Ackley before she was actually married, and not her own maiden... more

I think it is very possible though not 100% conclusive. Yes they would have been in on the robbery. I'm saying the three guys were the Currie gang. The girl I believe was EP but could have been... more

Thanks Vince. I think you have convinced me that Ell Butler was probably not involved in the Springville Robbery. Though her husband Mont Butler probably was. It also appears that Etta Place was not... more

I would question it can be proven that john ackley is the right ackley because there were so many of them around and the girl can't be IDed in census records. So whomever they are, they have to... more
