Who is the WWHA?

Wild West History Association is dedicated to providing publications and forums for the enlightenment and enjoyment of its members, facilitating and encouraging research, study, writing, presentation, and preservation of the history and lore of the people, events, and places that made the American West "wild" in the last half of the nineteenth century.... the lawmen, outlaws, gunfighters, rustlers, vigilantes, feuds, shady ladies, saloons, cowtowns, and mining camps.... along with recognizing and honoring those individuals and institutions that make significant contributions to the knowledge and preservation of Wild West history and lore.
The Wild West History Association counts among its members some of the great researchers and personalities involved with Wild West research and lore. Many are experienced actors, re-enactors, speakers, consultants and writers.

The new Wild West History Association is a non-profit corporation charted in the state of Texas dedicated to providing quality publications, the bimonthly Journal of the Wild West History Association, for the enlightenment and enjoyment of his members, facilitating and encouraging research, study, presentation of papers, and preservation of the history and lore of the people, events, and localities that made the American West wild. The Wild West History Association will center its focus primarily upon frontier lawmen and outlaws, but will encourage new research concerning gunfighters, vigilantes groups, feuds, cowtown life, mining camp life, and the gambling and saloon culture in the development of the west.
