Sorry, please ignore the other post. I'm not too good at computer stuff. I'm pretty sure that, although Stephen Baur was also called John Baur, he wasn't in soapy's gang. In fact, the legend is that my ggrandmother literally SAT on my ggrandfather to keep him from joining the men who finally went after Soapy. If you can give me an e mail, I can send you a photo of Stephen. It's a pleasure to meet you. Stories of Alaska, wild and crazy, are a pleasant part of my early childhood, as told by my grandad.

I look forward to hearing more about your photograph. Where did you get it? I am also interested in your coming Vermillion article/book. Is there a due out date on that? Jeff Smith
Jeff I'm working on the Vermillion article right now for late 2010. It has been delayed for several reasons. I found the "Fatty" photo by accident at a state archive while searching for another guy.... more
Dear Jeff Could you please do me a favor and ask your friend, Leah, on the Old Rogues Board to stop using my work in her posts without the proper acknowledgements. I don't go there very often, but... more
From Old West Rogues Leah Hello Peter, Sun Nov 29, 2009 11:52pm 67.183.132.139 I scrolled back down to the post that you are referring to about the Earps. We do not know each other, but I can look... more
Jeff Please feel free to remove the above two posts. I have discussed this with Leah on her board. In hindsight, I probably should not have put this on your board in the first place. Appreciated... more
