I am looking for any and all information on this family. Iam the great grand daughter of his son Capt. Willaim Maikell. We can't connect John up with family in Penn. (where he was born)
---John C.Maikell 93 years old.
and a resident Of Algiers since 1872,
died yesterday at the home of his
daughter over the river. He was born
in Pennsylvaina Sept. 1818. · He
moved to Algiers 1872 and always lived here. (meaning New Orleans)
. At on... time he ran a trading
boat on the Lower Coast,and
afterwards had a jewelry store and
and later a general store. but retired some time ago.
He leaves two chlldren.His wife having died
eightflen years ago.

and Mrs. A.C. Heron The funeral
will be" held today from Mrs. Heron's
residense 316 Slidell Avenue at 10
a.m.. and burial will be tn McDonogh
Cemetary.
