Hi Gil,
This is the best I can come up with on a short schedule:

On May 20, 1882, the Tombstone Epitaph, in an article about the proposed new courthouse, mentioned one idea for the placement of the new courthouse was at Fifth and Toughnut streets, on the ground occupied in part by the Tough Nut, Vizina and Mounain Maid mines.

On November 04, 1882, the Tombstone epitaph reports that "The foundation for a brick wall, twelve feet high, to be placed around the new court house is being laid, and work will be soon commenced."

On November 19, 1882, the Arizona Weekly citizen reported, "Cochise's new Courthouse will be ready for occupancy about the first of January."

So, my deduction from this is that it opened the end of December 1882 or the beginning of January 1883.

I'll let you know if I run across any further information.

Kind regards,

I'm wondering if anyone knows the date that the Cochise County Courthouse in Tombstone (now the Courthouse Museum) opened. I know it was in 1882, but when, exactly?
