They were the DAYS!!!!!!!
Sat Sep 24, 2011 6:23pm

There was so much talent that played on that field, it wasn't funny. I am sure big Bob Shannon did, that was a little before my time. I played there in the sixties, what a treat. Dug outs like the pros had, we were ahead of the times!!! A great President in Leon Pasko. I some times wonder why none of the guys that played on that field never made it to the show!! Both Bosenhoffer brothers had it, Doug Routzen,Larry Greenwich,T. Bayliss had probably had one of the best arms in Darby, thru in the ninties in the delco leage BJ A's back in the day. Chuck Southard, Tom Morgan, Mark Grazianno, Joe Zebley,Tink Murtaugh,Joe DePrince the Bitners, too many to mention. Now there is no little leage in Darby, What a Pitty!!!! I have to give mention to Kevin Hawk, may he rest in peace. One of the best infielders that I ever saw play out of Darby!!! Certainly a Field Of Dreams!!!!!!!!!!!!

And that is why I never umpired any games my boys played in. My only overseas tour was to Thailand/Viet Nam in 70-71.
