Well, the TV contract is a "done" deal according to Moores, and the Padres are getting a $200MM up-front bonus. I'm sure we will hear about how that money is going to upgrades at Petco, an expansion to the facility in the DR, maybe used to pay down some debt.
Kras did an amazing job tying everything all together:
http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2012/apr/04/how-the-padres-deal-fell-apart/I also noticed that Stan Kasten somehow found his way into the LA deal. That guy must have some amazing dirt on Selig. I don't know of any fan strikes that accomplished anything in the past...maybe it is time for a class action lawsuit on the part of the residents of the city of San Diego. Selig wouldn't let McCourt rape the Dodgers, but he seems to be turning a blind eye toward the fans in San Diego as Moores & Moorad attempt to do a similar thing (I'd be shocked if the $200MM isn't used to "pay down debt" before the team is sold--Moores and Moorad get their cash, only it isn't quite as blatant as what was happening in LA).
In the meantime, I think I am going to stay away from Petco Park until Moores is gone, as much as it pains me. The team may be shit, but my kids love going. I don't know. I think maybe I'll just watch Major League for inspiration.
