Yeah, the walks are going to prevent Volquez from matching Latos' FIP & xFIP. But in terms of era & K/9, it could be close. Clearly his walks are going to hurt a lot less pitching for the Padres then the Reds. I'm just hoping he has a big first half making him one of the better starters available at the deadline if the team chooses to go that route, and they probably should unless they start playing like a team possessed.
Agree completely on him being an astute pickup. Having Grandal doing his thing in AAA is pretty sweet, as is him already being on the 40-man available at a moments notice.
