His ultimate upside isn't 4th outfielder. That's where the optimistic and probability lines meet, though.
A Finley comp wouldn't have been outrageous for Payne, Chalk, Drew Macias, Kory DeHaan, or a bunch of other players. Doesn't mean its a bad comp or that Jankowski won't be the one who finally does it, but comps, by their very nature, are optimistic. They compare players who have a tiny chance of making the big leagues to big leaguers who played long enough that we remember them.
Today has been another Fuson-esque draft, except for Andrew Lockett, the HS RHP. I don't know enough about how deep this pool was or who was still available to render an opinion on the bat-first college and JUCO players we've picked today.

I think there are going to be plenty of "last minute" style deals from now on, teams and players not announcing deals until 30 minutes before deadline.....that is, unless they are for exactly slot.... more
