Leo was in a good mood, which was rare enough in itself, but he looked it too. Wearing a shirt of navy blue (which was alarmingly bright by his standards) he sauntered along the corridor towards his study lab and leaned heavily against the door frame.

"I'm better," he grinned. Blackwell had been lenient, considering it was his first offense. She had accidentally called him Miss Hardy several times out of habit but given the circumstances, his defence of one of her own students against one of the notoriously difficult Bs, he'd managed to come out of it with a very reasonable week's worth of detentions. He also had to take on the job of Blackwell's TA until she thought he'd put enough work in to counteract the duel but that was nothing compared to what could have happened to him.

Nurse Flowers had done a pretty good job of fixing him up too. He wasn't nearly as used to injuries as his sister, who came and went twice in the time he was there and both times gave him a wary look, but he was young and healthy and bounced back surprisingly quickly. Georgia Derby had't been so lucky, with her injuries or her reputation.

Now he had something planned to put that smile back on Grace's face, the secret one she gave him when no one else was looking. It was a brilliant plan too, if he did say so himself. So he'd asked her her to meet him in his study lab, where the project they were working on with stolen flobberworms was being guarded under a heavy web of spells. She looked bright and lovely and eager. He held out his hand for hers.

Grace’d tried her best to be patient. Flobberworm care required patience. Merlin, patience was boring. But if she lost these, she’d have to get new ones. Actually Thom would have to get new ones.... more

Leo ignored the protests. It was simpler that way. Otherwise he'd have to try and fathom how she could name a thing, call it George or Fred or the like, and then be perfectly happy to turn it inside... more
