Time To Go
Mon Dec 15, 2014 03:56

"You can take my place in the queue," Troy offered graciously. "I have another prize in mind."

He did not offer any further explanation as to whom that might be but instead downed the remainder of his drink and stood up abruptly. He picked up another bottle of amber liquid and poured a measure into each of their glasses. "Down in one, gentlemen," he commanded and they obeyed. "Right! I think it's high time we hit the town."

Leo was, surprisingly, the first to finish his shot and pull on his jacket. The Schuler brothers followed and before long they were on the road towards to the village, some swaying more than others.

"About Georgia..." Leo said after some minutes of walking. He and Troy were walking a few paces behind the other two boys and there was something he'd been meaning to ask.

"Oh, don't worry," Troy said lightly, slapping him on the back. "She deserved it and as I said...she's a difficult one."

"No, it's not that," he replied, coming to a stop. He swallowed again out of nerves and rubbed the back of his neck, faking that it was because of the cold.

"Well, what then?"

"How...I mean when. No, how. How did you know that she...wanted to..."

"Alright, don't choke over it," Troy grinned. "Grace, I suppose?" Leo nodded. "Well. I think I can help, but another time," he gestured at Randy's back. "Too many prying ears, but you must do something for me in return."

"I can't take your OWLS for you," Leo scowled.

"Don't be an idiot. I'll pay someone for that," he laughed. "No, it's about your sister but we'll get to that later." The Pit came suddenly into view, with the usual milling of people around the entrance and the dull thud of music escaping towards the sky. "Drinks first. Talking later."

Leo paused for a minute like someone taking a deep breath before diving into water. Crowded places still made his head hurt and just being near Randy caused him to flinch. Still, once the drinks were flowing the atmosphere might improve and if not, maybe the courage would.
