Randy and thom
Re: Time To Go

There was something relaxing about the Pit. Randy wouldn’t have thought it, but over time it had become as familiar to him as Aelcrest of his own house. He had spent a lot of time in a booth or at the bar, watching the dancers and cataloging them in his own mind. Certainly easier to deal with than the fact that Leo and Troy were walking with their heads together. It put a knot in his stomach. Leo was smart and Troy was clever, but there was always a distance between them. Each in their own separate category within the group. Now they were joining together and weren’t involving him in their plans. Something itched at the back of his brain to blame it on Grace. Somehow, someway, it was her fault.

Thom shoved him forward “Hey, stop dreaming, We’re moving.”

“You’re not too young for me to smack you.” Randy reminded him.

“You’re not too old for me to draw all over your face. “ Thom countered.

Randy wished - not for the first time - that they had been born muggle. “ You wouldn’t dare.”

Thom grinned. “Ted and Troy’ve got some new quills in.”
“Son of a --” the rest was lost in the thump of the Pit. They stopped by the bar to order and moved to their booth. Any other B would have had their name’s sewing onto the seats, behind velvet ropes on a level above the crowd, but Troy loved the crush of the lower classes and so they made due with a booth that was always “mysteriously” empty, when they needed it.

Randy noted that in Ri’s absence, the crowd seemed to be much more dispersed and that more of the feminine attention was turning in their direction. He waved at Chloe Pywell, who waved back and giggled to Aya who had been dressing rather nicely the past few weeks. Not that she hadn’t before. Or that he had noticed. Or had been thinking about it. Oh dear Merlin his drink was not nearly strong enough.

“I suppose Thom and I need to thank you two.” he said to both Troy and Leo. For what happened with Georgia. I know. I know it’s in the past, but still. Things could have gone a lot worse if you didn’t step in” he nodded to Leo “and you didn’t pull her out.” to Troy. He didn’t have to be her twin to recognize his sisters reaction. He’d seen it on their Mom twice before and each time he was sure the recipient was about to end their life with their throat in her teeth.

Thom nodded “ Not like she couldn’t have handled it, but I don’t think it’d be easy for Mom to find a new school to take on an expelled witch.Mom and Dad would…not be pleased. “ he chuckled, earning him a brief elbow nudge from his brother.
