Merlin, this was painful. Worse than that broken arm, definitely worse than the headache after her trip to the chandelier and way beyond how she'd felt this morning. None of it was for the reasons Bradley thought.

"Fine," she repeated. "You see, Captain..." she pulled herself close and looked up at him. Some people were just too attractive for their own good. But regardless of what he wanted, and how much she wanted to give it to him, she was not going to spend another four months playing this game. It was old and she was bored. "You don't distract me." With a quick tug she was free of his grip and made the most of the opportunity to escape the stare of Bradley Bryant.
