Logical Proofs Jesus is Messiah
Thu Apr 22, 2010 12:35

Many people have attempted to prove Jesus as the Messiah and Son of God and often succeede in convincing their listeners who came to accept Him based largely on miracles. Unfortunately, many skeptics do not accept miracles and they are more difficult to convince. For that reason we shall ignore miracles and stick to the logic of the Bible.

"Believe Me for the very works sake." While many Christians point out works do not save us, Jesus used His works as proof of Himself. Even ignoring the miracles, we can clearly see His Love, compassion, meekness, and wisdom. His works provide ample evidence of His Station.

"If I do not do the worksof My Father do not beleve Me." He also stated the negative side. And surely had He not done the works of the Father nobody would have believed Him. When we look at false prophets like Sabatai Zevi, Jim Jones, and David Koresh we can see they did not do the works of the Father. For that reason relatively few accepted them and they are mostly forgotten.

"They also may be one in Us so the world may believe that Thou hast sent Me." The relative unity of the Christians is powerful evidence that Jesus came from God. Only the Logos, the Creative Power of God, is capable of uniting divers elements of diverse societies into nations as Christianity did. Before Jesus came, there were no nations, only citystates. Since the birth of Jesus no nations have been created and truly united without Religion as a key element.

"I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep." And Jesus gave His life for His sheep. Zevi had claimed he was Messiah recanted when threatened with death, Jones and Koresh died but murdered the sheep. Jesus was the Sacrificial Lamb.

"A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit neither can a corrupt tree bringeth forth good fruit." Paul defined that fruit: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering..." Jesus certainly bore abundant good fruit by Himself and His Religion. So much love, joy, peace has been spread around the world. No group of people in the history of the world can compare with Christians for building schools, hospitals, missions. They have certainly not done those things perfectly. And, they have suffered more than any group for their Religion. What greater proof can there be than that?

"Now speakest Thou are we sure Thou knowest all things." Not only did Jesus speak plainly but He spoke with wisdom unlike any contemporary or any predecessor. He said that wisdom came from GOD. On what basis can we doubt Him? There is none.

"For he taught them as [one] having authority, and not as the scribes." Yes, Jesus taught with authority. The scribes had to quote the Torah or Talmud. Jesus spoke for God and when people heard they did not doubt.

Who can deny Jesus? What would be the basis for such denial?
