Finn wasn’t sure if it was because she was re-taking fourth year, or because the European magic schools just moved at a different pace than their American counterparts, but so far she had found herself feeling consistently bored in every class she attended. She was glad that she hadn’t wasted any time getting her hopes up too high for RMI. Despite the school’s unique class names, like Magical Sciences and Cultural Studies and Spellwork, they all still taught essentially the same things, things that she had already learned and didn’t feel the need to do even more assignments on. At least the Spellwork professor was interesting, elsewise she might not have been able to stay awake through the first week of classes! His lessons, while maybe not fun by her definition, were at least unique... although she might not be able to forgive him for this latest absurdity.

Feeling a bit self-conscious, she slowly peeled off her robes. Her ‘swimsuit’ for today was just a striped crop-top that she usually wore when she was working in the gardens and a pair of old denim shorts. Despite its relative modesty when compared to actual swimsuits, she still felt like it exposed too much of her. She usually didn’t care too much about her appearance, but she usually didn’t go swimming, either, so today was allowed to be an exception. When tied up in a bathing suit, her figure contrasted greatly with the rest of her family. Her other female relatives were all straight and slim, whereas Finn was rather curvy, her hips thicker and wider than she would have liked them to be. Obviously this was just a natural fact she had to live with. That didn’t mean she had to like it.

The redhead crouched down to unzip her knapsack, balling up her robes between her hands and stuffing them inside. In anticipation of the day’s lesson, she had already protected her knapsack with an Impervius Charm, and so now she simply swung it up back onto her shoulders for safekeeping. The soft bag fell comfortably against the centre of her back and she reached up to pull the ends of her hair out from underneath its straps, fingering the thick layers of hair while she surveyed the classroom-turned-carnival. Aguamenti and Engorgio were both pretty simple spells, and her blue-eyed gaze hardly lingered on the kiddie pools for more than a few seconds, turning instead towards the carnival game tanks. Playing games was a bit more desirable right now. But duelling was even more desirable, as it was one of her only academic passions.

The Halfblood quite liked duelling. It had been a useful skill for her back at Beaux. After the first time she’d been caught unawares in an empty hallway, she had started practicing constantly in the school’s training room, and was by now at a point where she felt highly confident in her abilities. Yes, she still only had the spell repertoire of a fourth-year, but she could recollect them quickly and fire them off with ease, and that was the important part! Dueling with just Aguamentis wouldn’t be quite the same. However, it was still dueling, still a chance for extra practice, and she decided that would be where she started today.

Absently she prodded her black glasses farther up her nose and pulled out her wand, pointing it at a random student. “Draw your wand, dear,” she ordered them, French drawl rolling under the surface of her words. “Or stick ‘em up. Whichever you prefer. Forfeiting may be a smart move on your part, but I’d rather win honestly.” She smirked, tilting her wand slightly so as to aim it more directly at their face.
