Cora giggled as Brielle got hit in the face by a jet of purple liquid, spewed from a stain. Was it rude to giggle? Probably. Well, actually, it was most definitely rude. Cora tried to shut up immediately, to no avail. Although the giggles stopped coming out, her face turned beet red trying to suppress her laughter.

But then Brielle said something funny: "I'd say the stain is out... Don't you agree?

Now Cora could let out the laugh she had been holding in for ages!

Laughing uncontrollably, she replied, "Yes of course! I'd say that was a job well done!" She smiled at Brielle and Meci, and then looked down to see how much of a mess they (well really actually Brielle and Meci if she wanted to be exact and weasel out of trouble (but of course she wouldn't do such a thing)) had created.

Oh no, she thought, I got some on my robes! Sure enough, there was a dark stain only barely visible, but still there.

Oh no, she thought as another thought occurred to her, I am beginning to think like a teenage girl! I won't ever be as annoyingly focused on clothes and boys as the average teenage girl!

She muttered a quick scourgify on her robes, hoping the stain would disappear quickly, telling herself she only cared so her parents would not have to buy her new robes.

This time, thank goodness, the spell worked and the stain disappeared first try. At least she had learned a new spell. But why had it not worked the first couple times that she and Brielle had tried? After all, Cora had been able to remove all the stains she had tried before.

The most logical explanation, according to Cora, was that it was of a substance particularly difficult to get out of cloth. This was the explanation she accepted as the truth, almost as if waiting for someone to contradict her.

"So," Brielle responded, practicing the motion before actually going into the spell, "like that?" She did the motion one more time for Meci's sake, then moved onto the cloth without waiting for... more
