"I'm sorry guys!" Brielle eyed Meci as the three girls finished cleaning the mess up. She wished she could go back to the Common Room to change into her spare robes, yet she knew she had to wait until later at the next meal, or at least the end of this class/the beginning of the next. She raised an eyebrow warily as she was complimented on her wand, after tucking it away.

She sat on a nearby chair and her hand lingered over her boot defensively as Meci spoke, "Nice wand you've got there." Brielle's gaze shifted to the handle poking the slightest bit out of her shoe. She gave a small smile.

"Thank you," she decided on the simplest words, as she knew if she tried to explain the full story behind where she got it and why it was so special to her, they would think she was a freak. In fact, she had gotten it from the wand maker that many others got theirs from, however it was a later version of the wand that once belonged to her mother, which formerly belonged to her mother and her mother, and so on. It was a family keepsake, an heirloom. Even though Brielle detested her biological family for giving her up, she kept the wand as a connection to her past, in case her feelings changed. When she went into the shoppe and asked the maker if he knew her mother's wand, he handed her the newest version, which she took to quite nicely. That was the treasured stick that she kept tucked away for classes or in case of a random emergency that required a scourging charm. But, instead of that whole story, she simply told her fellow Aquila, "I'm rather fond of it."

She pulled it back out and examined it for a few seconds, running her hand along the sleek gray and black surface, then replaced it. She looked up at the two wide-eyed innocent first years, much like herself, and thought that these two would be good friends to have. They were both quite nice and--other than the mishap, which Brielle still didn't understand--seemed eager and able to help out in any way that they could. Brielle was ready to do the same.

"Well, at least one good thing came out of this class," Brielle smirked as she joked, "We made friends before midterm!"
