Sam Tome looked around her dorm room one last time and smiled. Her bed was made, her clothes were unpacked, her books were put away on the shelves, her alarm-radio was set up next to her bed, and her posters were on the wall. Finally, Sam was at home. She looked down at her shooting star watch and saw that it almost time for the cocktail party.
Sam pursed her lips wondering what she should wear. Normal girls would wear dresses, and high-heels but Sam wasn't that type of girl. She hadn't worn a dress since before going off to school almost eight years ago. She whistled as she grabbed out a pair of nice black jeans.
Shedding her cargo shorts from earlier, she pulled on the jeans. She then grabbed out a long sleeved purple dress shirt, and a black vest. Finally, she opened her top drawer and pulled out a purple and grey stripped tie, which she easily tied. To complete her outfit, she slipped her feet into black boat-shoes. Sam brushed out her short hair and put a bit more gel into it before she left her room.
She followed the other students heading to the Atrium because she had already forgotten out how to get there. Once there she stood in the crowd of people and listened to the speech. It was the pretty stander fair of a welcoming feast, except with alcohol. Sam wasn't a big drinker but figured a drink or two couldn't hurt, after all she was walking back to her dorm room.
She walked to the less crowed of the two drink tables, set down her glass and said. "Cranberry vodka." the glass filled up with the red liquid. Sam picked it up and walked away as she took a sip, thankful that the cranberry juice covered the vodka taste up. That's when the seventeen year old witch realized someone was looking at her. "Hi." she said with a smile.
