Samuel raised his brow when he realized that the girl’s smile faltered and her eyes narrowed for a few seconds. After that she seemed completely friendly and somewhat shy. He straightened up and looked around the room. The people in there were going to be with him for the next four years, along with Briar Velia. He wondered why she seemed annoyed with him for a few seconds, he had just introduced himself! He let that thought go into the deepest corner of his mind. He wanted something and he was obnoxious enough to get it.

“Pleasure Miss Velia. May I call you Brair?” He felt smug that he had been able to make her blush. It made her look rather cute, and she definitely looked better than she had that morning at the Student Union. The Little Black Dress suited her. He smiled at her. His mind was working faster than usual coming up with a lot of questions that he wanted to ask her.

He passed his hair with his fingers, trying to tame it. He had been wearing his hair longer than he had during his schooling years. Samuel was trying to figure out his look. His stubble was still there, perfectly trimmed, yet it seemed to be present due to some lazyness. Samuel actually liked how he looked with it, since he thought he looked older than he really was.

He refrained from wrapping his arm around her waist. They had only met and he figured from her previous weird attitude that she wouldn’t like it. “I hope you don’t mind if I stay with you, I don’t know anyone here, and I think us freshman should stick together.” His smile was charming. He wanted Brair to see that he just wanted to be her friend and learn more about her. It hadn’t occurred to him that maybe she was a Half-blood or Muggle-born, even when he didn’t recognize the last name, he couldn’t care less about her background. All that mattered to him right now was to get to know her better. There was something about Brair Velia that allured him.

“Where did you go to school prior attending the university?” Samuel was completely awake thanks to a little potion he had taken after he woke up from his nap. He needed to be alert for this, he couldn’t screw it up, and sometimes potions were needed. He was full of energy, and he wanted to burn it out before the evening ended. He needed some sleep.
