"Murakami, Sascha," Sascha said, the man's gruff and authoritative tone reminding him rather sharply of one of his sensei's back home that he automatically gave his name in Japanese order.
"I'm sorry, I was unable to see what wand motion you made for the spell, Healer McMurray-sensei," Sascha said, his tone respectful and polite, words very carefully enunciated. "I was wondering if you would show me again, please? So that I may practice?" he could of course, ask a fellow student, but in Sascha's experience, that worked out about as well as a game of telephone. The student who showed him was just learning it his or herself, and so what Sascha was shown was even more diluted. Oh, Sascha could, and had, worked with that exact situation. He'd had senseis that had been unwilling to assist him... but Sascha figured the only way to find out was to ask.
Of course, he wouldn't find the spell of much use, but the assignment currently wasn't to use the spell to diagnose something. It was simply to make the spell. With luck, he'd have time to tweak it was needed, were that possible, before the next lesson.
