Like you, I always had this view of research as having to read pages upon pages of information and then trying to decipher what the author meant. This class taught me to appreciate doing research and finding answers to important questions that can positively effect student learning. I like your outlook on making "small changes" that can have big results. Sometimes it's not that fun to be critical of our own teaching, but it is important because that is the only way we can become better educators. Meeting with other teachers is a great way to learn about strategies and to discuss issues that are occurring in the classroom. Another teacher may have an idea or strategy that works, that you may have never thought about. Therefore, we need to use each other as resources!
