Actually while getting my undergrade, I struggled with which major elementary ed of PE. While staying at home with children I did a lot of reading etc. with my own children and watching them learn etc. was exciting. When my daughter started Kindergarten, I was the volunteer that read with children etc. I loved working with all of them. In my own field of PE, I integrate reading on a regular basis. I do a unit on Dr. Suess, I have a word wall, I have made foam letters and alpha lids ( letter in gatorade lids) for students to play games, activites, and skills that require them to spell, make sentences etc. I would love for you to come and observe my class sometimes. Also, for a short time I had a job tutoring readers at a Title one school and decided I wanted to know more about reading and the reading process. That desire has lead me to ASU's reading program. Not all PE teachers and slack!!!
