I am not familiar with Word Build, but I do use word study with all of my EC students. I agree that the time I have with my EC students is precious time that I cannot waste on doing activites that are not effective. Sometimes one of the difficult parts of EC is straddling the Reg Ed world of making sure my students have exposure to grade level material while teaching them on their level of reading. Being able to reinforce what is already been done in the general education classroom is great! Many time students can learn classroom material with much more success when given the small group, direct instruction of an EC classroom.
