I had never tried Readers' Theater with my students before. I had tried Echo and Choral reading with students before and knew its value. Readers' Theater has really opened a new world for me to help students with fluency. If I had known how engaged my students would have been during this strategy, I would have been using it all along. It even worked well with my younger students who are struggling readers. I would reccommend it for every teacher! Next time, I will definitely be using a flip camera so that the students can watch themselves perform. And this actually was not something that I came up with; my fifth grade students actually asked to do this. I think this will serve as not only feedback for them on how they sound to other students, but it will give them a purpose for reading and motivate them to do their very best.
