I use reader's theater in my classroom frequently. For the research project, it was small group and easier to do. However, I also use it during Teacher Directed Reading. This is also a script I got from Waltke's Web for Second Grade. They have it for all grades. With whole group, I divided the class into 2-3 smaller groups and they go to their instructed group. Students practice in their small groups. After practicing, students then perform their play. One group performs and the other group or 2 groups are the audience. Then the next group performs and so on.
