I am in Dr. Moorman's class too, and as I was doing that graphic novel project I came across two wonderful graphic novels about Ann Frank. They contained lots of history - it really surprised me how much I learned from reading those novels! I was not excited about reading them in the beginning, but I can see now how they appeal to students. I had not even realized that there was a section in our library exclusively for that genre, but there is...and while I was looking at those books I saw lots of boys looking through them, as well. These courses are "teaching this old dog some new tricks!"

        I, too, was not a fan of graphic novels or superheros as a child but they are great resources to incorporate into a classroom library. They do come in a array of subject matter and can even be used... more
