expression and personality
Thu Dec 1, 2011 20:42

I'm glad you saw some similarities in your project! The way you described your students having trouble reading with expression during echo reading is the exact thing that happened with us. Even when we read with exaggerated expression, sometimes the student echoed back with almost no expression. Hopefully continuing to model and work on expression will help these students. I mentioned in an earlier discussion that sometimes I think that a student's personality plays a part in their expression. If a student is the type to talk without a whole lot of expression, then I doubt they are going to show it much in their reading.
