I thought that the disparity between what the parents said in regards to their own reading habits and what the children said was interesting too! Maybe you're right about when they read - after the kids are in bed - but it makes me wonder. We often think we're modeling something, but I think sometimes the kids don't quite see it the same way. I wonder if those parents read to their children when they were small.

            I'm not banking on it, but with this group of parents it wouldn't surprise me either if this were true.

            Very true-it is interesting the perceptions we give when we do not realize it! I think we should have asked when and where do you read for enjoyment AND...does your child witness that?
