I also learned that research is a part of teaching. Teaching must be seen as reflection, questioning, and theorizing in order to help students. As the article points out, as a teacher, you are part detective and searching for clues from students. You are also part researcher, gathering and analyzing data. I found this process to be very valuable and will continue to research throughout my teaching career.
