What you noticed about the article and the process that we used to conduct our research was very similar to what I wrote about in my reflection. While conceptual research is theoretical, philisophical and includes teachers' conversations, stories, and essays, emperical research (which is what we did in this class), involves collecting, analyzing and interpretating data. This type of research allowed us to find the problems in our classroom and collect data on the strategies we used to help "fix" the problem. The information we obtained from the research is valuable to us because our very own students were involved. We can also use this information to help other teachers; just as it is relevant to us, our research has the potential to be as equally useful to other teachers.
