I agree with it slowing down your WPM, but if they are engaged and interested in what they are reading- forget the timing and let it flow. That is what good teaching looks like. You adjust and adapt to the students needs and they obviously were enjoying the poems. It is hard to get students into poetry at times, and when you can get them hooked, you have to run with it and keep boosting them up. Great work!

      Poetry makes for fascinating conversations because poetry is so subjective! It always for so study of so many different components of comprehension.
