I have really enjoyed the Boyle stories because most of them are rather entertaining. A couple of them have made me laugh and T.C. Boyle has a very interesting and witty writing style. Even though his stories are interesting, they are all very bizarre. The creativity that is put into the stories impresses me. My favorite story that we have read so far would be Modern Love. I enjoyed reading this story because it was humorous but showed how love can be realistically. It kind of gave me a Breakfast at Tiffany's feel, except the end of the story did not turn out to be perfect and sappy. The characters in the story were distinct and the narrator's attitude made me want to keep reading.
I did not really enjoy The Human Fly. The story really did not keep me very interested and this is mostly because I think the things that Zoltan did were idiotic and stupid. Stories that have to do with any type of action do not really attract me. Even though I did feel sad for Zoltan at the end, he should have known that all of his stunts were eventually going to kill him. I do think it was rather harsh of the narrator for not caring about Zoltan though. I did not like either of the characters in that story, so I really did not enjoy reading it very much.
I did enjoy reading On for the Long Haul. Even though I thought it was silly that the main character moved his family, all of the characters were nicely put together. I loved how the names resembled the personalities of the characters. The story was very interesting and kept me wanting to finish to find out what happens. Cullum sort of scared me a little bit and gave me a creepy feel, and I enjoy reading stories that have some type of chilling suspense. I think that this story was written very well and I enjoyed reading it a lot.
Overall, the Boyle stories are really something that I like to read. Boyle's style of writing is awesome and he seems like he would be a very smart and interesting person. Short fiction is something I really love to read. Collections such as the Canterbury Tales are witty and remind me a lot of the T.C. Boyle stories.

All of the Boyle stories seem to have a morbid or twisted sense of humor which makes it interesting to read. So far it has been unusual and weird to read his stories about random things. I like how... more
