I agree...it can be like ELL at times. I feel we must work on building up meaning behind phrases and words and work on not using them as they will be confused. I also feel that we must use different strategies to help them see and make connections between real lives and the books they read. Answering the "wh" questions can confuse so many so continuing to try and open doors and windows of connection is key.
