Our 10 month Australian Labradoodle is puzzling/worrying us around the issue of eating his kibble. We have him "down stay" before he eats and then we say"free". He can't scrabble up quick enough to eat. He never misses a meal! Our plan is to feed him 2/3 cup of kibble 3X per day until he is 1 year old. This all changed 2 weeks ago. He didn't eat his breakfast. I called the vet and following their suggestion to put the food up and until the next meal. Then he ate the next day but not the next day after. Its been like this off and on for the last two weeks. I'm taking him to the vet tomorrow. His is stool is sometime skinny than usual then ok. Has anyone out there had this problem around eating? He acts ok, the still crazy rambunctious pup!

Thanks for reply. I would like suggestions of bones or treats that are safe for my doodle. He has ruined several pairs of my shoes if they are not out of his reach. Thanks. Joanne

There is a recipe on the website for a "healthy" treat. We make them for all of our dogs and every dog loves them. Regarding shoes, I assume you have followed a rigid crate schedule while training... more

BTW, the recipe was included in the info kit we sent out to everyone who purchased a pup from us. Here it is, again. Healthy Homemade Dog Treats 1 Medium ripe banana 1 cup shredded carrots ... more

I never heard back about the Vet. Sometimes a pup may have less of an appetite if he or she is stressed which can cause a protozoa they carry in their gut to act up...coccidia. Very treatable
