Lamenting over the topic for this project has been an endeavor that has had its existence since the previous projectís fruition. Because of its ongoing path I was unable to combine both projects as suggested by Mr. Bates. After overcoming such a tragedy that may have reached Romeo and Juliet proportions, this is sarcasm folks; choosing a project should never rival TV prime time dramas. Just go with your gut and roll with it with the best of your ability. Or, on occasion a topic will seemingly fall out of the sky and land conveniently in your lap that perfectly suits you and your writing style. This is what happened in case for this project. Mr. Bates happened to mention that we could use hot topics as our subject choice, like abortion and capital punishment. Capital punishment is a subject that I am somewhat familiar with from previous projects such as methodology. In high school I did do a project on the electric chair that was rather interesting and scratched the surface about the subjectís ethical background. I am not really considering any other project and because of this oneís good fit I will keep with it for the duration of this project. One of sides of this subject is that we should use capital punishment which will in all likelihood will emphasize the economic downfalls of not employing capital punishment. In our prisons today prisoners get better food, education, healthcare, and recreation than our middle class. (Unless you reside in a specific special prison in Arizona where they feed you green bologna and day old bread and they work all day.) This costs the tax payers an outrageously large pound of flesh to pay. There is also the old belief that crimes require equal justice. There was a culture in old times where if you committed arson you would be burned at the stake and murder equals execution. Even today there are some cultures where there is still enforcement of Ďeye for and eye tooth for a tooth.í The only problem I see with writing this paper is that scientifically, the for side is more greatly supported. Most of the against side is moral arguments. Even the possibility of killing innocent criminals has moral backing. All in all it will be interesting to write a paper of this nature.
